T4E Conference “Agora for Democratic Culture” - March 31 - April 1, 2022

The two-day Conference entitled “Setting an Agora for Democratic Culture” that was organized by the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO took place at the premises of the new Acropolis Museum in Athens (Thursday, 31st of March – Friday, 1st of April). The Conference provided the opportunity to students and teachers from the participating European countries to exchange ideas and best practices on themes such as democratic culture, global citizenship, human rights and sustainability.
On the first day of the Conference the Opening Ceremony took place, during which the President of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, Mrs. Ekaterini Tzitzikosta, the UNESCO Assistant Director – General for Education, Mrs. Stefania Giannini and a representative from the Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs addressed welcome speeches. This was followed by a Round Table, during which Mr. Aris Peroulakis, Chairman of the Board of the National Documentation Center and representatives from the program partners had a fruitful dialogue on the impact of the “Teachers4Europe” Program on Global Citizenship Education.
During the Conference 27 best practices were presented, by 32 teachers and project partners. Approximately 100 people participated physically and more than 500 people via live streaming (available on this link: https://www.facebook.com/HellenicNationalCommissionUnesco/videos/340103431288768/)
