Onsite and Online Training for the Greek Ambassadors T4E

On Friday, the 1st and Saturday, the 2nd of November 2019, the Reception Ceremony of the Teachers4Europe Ambassadors, who will participate in the Erasmus+ KA3 Programme “Teachers for Europe: Setting an Agora for Democratic Education” took place in Piraeus. They were also trained for the needs of the Program.

The Welcome Ceremony took place in the Laskaridis Foundation's event room. Greetings were extended by: Markos Koutras, Professor, Vice-Rector of Finance, Planning and Development of the University of Piraeus, Sofia Zacharaki, Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, George Moschovis, Greek Deputy Commissioner for European Affairs , Maria Mendrinou, Professor, Director of the MSc International and European Policies in Education, Training and Research, and Sissy Aligizaki, Vice Mayor for Education, Lifelong Learning and School Buildings of Piraeus Municipality.

Academic staff of the University of Piraeus, postgraduate students and Teachers4Europe Ambassadors attended the ceremony and were briefed on the objectives and structure of the Programme. The Programme was presented by Fotini Asderaki, Associate Professor, Academic Coordinator of the Programme. The historical evolution of the Programme was addressed by Xanthi Chouliara, T4E Primary Education Ambassador, Zakynthos, Corina Pertsinidou, T4E Secondary Education Ambassador, Eastern Attica, and George Destes, T4E Primary Education Ambassador.

The Training of Ambassadors lasted two days and took place at the University of Piraeus. The schedule included talks on the European Union and Greece's role in it, on Democracy and Human Rights, on the Erasmus+ Programme, on the European Digital Skills Frameworks and the T4E online Platform. At the same time, the teachers were divided into groups per educational level and participated in specially designed workshops of different thematics.

The Reception Ceremony and the Training of Ambassadors were also broadcast online through a special platform for Ambassadors whose physical presence was impossible.
